About the Role

Contributing to interdisciplinary workstreams where a broad range of physics, maths, electronics, mechanical and software skills are required

This role is offered on a hybrid basis, with a minimum of 3 days a week being based in the office. 

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to solving technical problems in a cross-disciplinary team, applying a broad range of engineering and scientific skills.
  • Develop and implement creative solutions based on different technologies and key requirements.
  • Apply strong analytical skills and engineering knowledge to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Be hands-on with performing experiments, analysing data, testing and developing prototype software/mechanical/electronic systems as needed.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of high-quality system and sub-system level documentation including requirements risk and design control documentation that complies with relevant standards.

About you

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have/be:

Knowledge and Skills required:

  • Communication and collaboration skills:
  • Collaborates with internal multi-disciplinary teams and external resource, suppliers and agencies to achieve all deliverable targets. Actively works to improve collaboration where needed.
  • Communicates confidently with all internal and external stakeholders and adapts communication style as required, has awareness of how to communicate effectively with teams around the world.
  • Produces clear reports and presentations suitable for the relevant audience.

Asks for help or support as needed when developing skills in a new area or learning a new process.

Technical skills:

  • Ability to analyse and understand complex systems combining electronics, mechanics, software and FPGAs.
  • Proven ability to take a hands-on approach to designing and executing experiments or analysing a problem.
  • Demonstrable specialist knowledge in at least one specific area of engineering relevant to the Versius system (e.g. embedded systems, electronics, dynamics and control, mechanical etc).
  • Ability to autonomously deliver assigned tasks on time and with the required quality.
  • Optional: Knowledge of systems engineering methodologies (e.g. functional decomposition, states and modes analysis, interface analysis etc).

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in Physics, Maths, Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Optional: prior experience of medical device or other regulated product development.
