About the Role

Reporting into the President of International Commercial, OUS, the General Manager India Region will lead CMR Surgical’s India regional strategy and operations, driving sales, market share, and profitability by setting business goals, overseeing all aspects of the commercial business, leading the commercial strategy building organizational capability, allocating resources, and ensuring compliance with regional  regulations.

Key responsibilities include driving the clinical and capital sales growth, developing and implementing strategic business plans, managing P&L, identifying growth opportunities, building and coaching strong teams, and fostering a positive organizational culture. The role requires deep knowledge of the India region market, strong business development skills, and the ability to manage complex landscapes and regulatory environments.?

Responsibilities

  • Sales Achievement: Responsible for achievement of key sales targets including capital sales and clinical sales as well as service revenues. Defining and developing the sales pipeline and maintaining strong record keeping utilizing defined CRM system (Salesforce). In conjunction with sales operations, full ownership of the sales forecasting.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement the company's strategic and business plans for the India region, ensuring alignment with global and regional strategies. 
  • KOL Management: Establish, develop and maintain KOL and customer relationships throughout the India markets. Regular customer visits to ensure CMR presence.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage country-level P&L, ensure profitability targets are met, and direct the preparation of short-term and long-range financial plans and budgets. 
  • Business Development: Identify new growth opportunities, expand service offerings, and drive market share in the India region. 
  • Operational Management: Collaborate closely with all CMR operational stakeholders and functions ensuring operational excellence. 
  • Regional Marketing: Develop and partner with regional marketing to drive awareness of CMR’s portfolio and partner with Global Marketing on key regional events and initiatives.
  • Team Leadership & Talent Development: Provide strong and effective leadership for the commercial teams, leading by example and developing, retaining and coaching sales teams/talent, thereby fostering a culture of commercial success. Provide the regional leadership across the cross-functional India organization.
  • Market & Regulatory Expertise: Maintain a strong understanding of the diverse regulatory landscapes, market access challenges, and healthcare dynamics across the India region. 
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with various functions and global/regional leadership to achieve business objectives and manage risks. Cultivate groups of leading KOL’s/executives to advise on market and product development
  • Liaison Management: as applicable build and foster liaison relationships throughout the India market and ensure CMR’s best interests in managing these relationships.

About You

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have/be:

  • Degree or equivalent in Business, Marketing, Biomedical Engineering, or Clinical Science. MBA preferred.
  • Proven sales leader within med-tech with a history of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
  • Extensive experience leading med-tech commercial organizations with strong customer and business relationships in the India market.
  • 10+ years of medical device experience in an international business environment and in clinical settings.
  • Substantial experience in a leadership role managing professional commercial teams.
  • Clinical experience in the operating room with minimal access surgery and / or robotic-assisted surgery.
  • Strong analytical skills and a passion for shaping the market changing the standard of minimally invasive surgery and driving business growth.
  • Strong history of customer relationships and experience with KOL’s and HCP management within the Indian market.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and be flexible enough to change priorities with short notice when necessary.
  • Ability to succeed in a rapidly changing, agile environment where continuous innovation is requisite to success.
  • Availability to travel at least 75%+ when necessary.
  • Located in India region
  • Strong level of professional English language skills.
