About the Role

This role leads the procurement of electronic assemblies and components for serial production and NPI activities, including supplier development and relationship management.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the procurement of allocated electronic and electrical assemblies and components
  • Electronics category strategy and sourcing roadmap; key supplier and subcontract partner strategies
  • End-to-end sourcing process including supplier selection, commercial negotiations and contract management
  • NPI and engineering change sourcing support
  • Managing inventory levels and component inventory movements to contract manufacturers 
  • Leading negotiations with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
  • PCBA / electronics cost reduction and cost avoidance; cost analysis and cost roadmaps
  • Pro-actively monitoring market trends, component availability and obsolescence; implementing supply-risk mitigation strategies
  • Identifying and managing obsolete inventory
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant quality, regulatory and security standards
  • Ownership and improvement of supplier performance, delivery, capacity and continuity
  • Developing, tracking & reporting key supplier & inventory metrics
  • Finalising purchase details of orders and deliveries. Managing P/O coverage, lead-time updates, confirmations and shortages
  • Resolving invoice queries and managing credits via the VRA process
  • Assisting with supplier non-conformances where appropriate
  • Cross functional leadership with Technology, Supplier Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Logistics and Finance
  • Identifying and implementing changes to improve internal processes
  • Guidance and mentoring to Buyers and Planners on electronics category activities

We’d expect you to be willing to turn your hand to anything within the Supply Chain remit that helps the team deliver its objectives.?

About you

  • Educated to degree level or a minimum of 8 years in a Procurement role
  • Proven experience in Electronics commodity management with a global supply base
  • Detailed knowledge of SMT manufacture and testing requirements
  • Strong background of working within an MRP environment
