About the Role
We're looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join our Data team and help us turn messy, ambiguous business questions into clear, decision-grade insights. This isn't a build-the-perfect-pipeline role, it's a figure-out-what's-actually-going-on role.
You'll work in a highly supportive, cross-functional team of subject matter experts, working directly with stakeholders across the business who come to you with real, unresolved questions rather than fully specified requirements. Your job is to work out what they're really asking, dig into data that wasn't necessarily designed to answer it, decide what's signal and what's noise, and come back with a clear, defensible answer, including "we don't know yet, here's why."
To give a flavour of the kind of problem you'd own:
Someone might ask you to track how a newly launched product is being used, and whether it's had any effect on surgery volumes compared to the version it replaced.
There's no ready-made report for a question like this. You'd need to work out what data actually exists to describe usage and volume before and after the change, decide what counts as a real effect versus normal variation, and come back with an answer reliable enough to act on, whether that feeds into product, commercial, or engineering decisions.
This is a hybrid role with a minimum of 1 day per week in our Cambridge office.
Responsibilities
We’d expect you to be willing to turn your hand to anything within the data teams remit that helps the team deliver its objectives.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
At CMR Surgical, we're building a diverse, inclusive, and authentic workplace. You don't need to meet every requirement to apply, what matters most is that you identify with our values, bring a positive attitude, and are motivated to learn, lead, and make a difference.
Interested? We’d love to hear from you!
