About the Role

This position is key in carrying out the necessary inspection of incoming assemblies, subassemblies and components using a variety of quality techniques and tools. 

This role is based on-site at our Ely premises. 

Responsibilities

  • Verify the conformity of parts, assemblies, and subassemblies in line with engineering drawings, the quality management system, any other specific requirements, and document nonconformances.
  • The ability to use a wide range of inspection and test equipment to ensure accurate and repeatable data collection.
  • Ensure the comprehensive completion and auditable traceability of inspection records.
  • Maintain all area 6S requirements ensuring that the business targets are maintained, and corrective/improvement plans exist where required.
  • Liaise with other internal departments e.g. Production, Engineering etc. to resolve manufacturing issues which have been identified by the Quality Cell Leader or Operations Quality Manager.
  • Take an active role in the investigation of nonconformances.
  • Monitor the use of inspection equipment and ensure their maintenance/calibration is upheld and correct for the equipment’s use.
  • Carry out any other duties appropriate and as required by your line manager to support business requirements.

We’d expect you to be willing to turn your hand to anything within the Operations Quality remit that helps the team deliver its objectives.

About you

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have/be:

  • Good communication skills both verbally and written.
  • Be a team player in attitude and values supporting the Cell Leader.
  • Have a keen-eye for detail and have a results-driven approach to inspection.
  • The ability to work as part of a team or on own initiative both internally and externally where directed.
  • Demonstratable experience working to tight timescales whilst maintaining quality standards.
  • The courage and confidence to challenge product progression in the event of discovering a nonconformance.
  • A positive mindset and good judgement/problem solving skills.
  • A BTEC level 3 in mechanical/electronics or other related subject, or equivalent.
  • Experience with Netsuite or Quality-based software tools is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools.
