We’re looking for an exceptional Decontamination Specialist to join our team in the US. This position will play a key role in the growth of the Versius robotic program in the US. This is a field role based in the US.
As a Decontamination Specialist working with our team in the US, you will train and support customers in the activities related to Decontamination and Reprocessing of Versius Surgical System, acting as the primary contact for the Sterile Processing Department (SPD) of the hospital or healthcare center.
As the US is a new and growing market for CMR Surgical, our current installed base is limited but expanding rapidly. This is an opportunity to join at the start of our US journey, where you will help establish our reputation and customer relationships. The position is field-based and will require extensive nationwide travel, with flexibility to support customer sites across the country, as our footprint grows.
The role also requires hospital credentialing for major US healthcare systems, strict adherence to FDA Quality System Regulation (21 CFR 820), and compliance with all local, state, and customer-specific access requirements.?

Responsibilities
- Survey, report, train, and advise customers on the use of Versius reprocessing instructions.
- Support US team as reprocessing subject matter expert to gain customer confidence and promote CMR solutions.
- Support internal Decontamination team by providing reprocessing expertise in the development and market launch of new products as well as concerns with existing products.
- Keep up to date with a working knowledge of industry regulations, standards, and guidance documents for medical device decontamination, reprocessing, and sterilization.
- Conduct reprocessing, sterilization risk assessments and input to generation of reprocessing instructions and training material, and reprocessing-related usability and risk management activities.
- Audit customers’ SPD work processes and equipment use to ensure compliance with Versius reprocessing instructions. Proactively identify gaps and provide recommendations.
- Provide reprocessing expertise with practical troubleshooting and resolve customer issues by supporting and collaborating with the internal Decontamination team, Quality team, and Technology team, as required.
- Collaborate with Professional Education team to help deliver technical training for customers OR teams on the decontamination as needed.
We would expect you to be willing to turn your hand to anything within the Decontamination remit that helps the team deliver its objectives. About you
To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have/be:
- Strong relevant experience working within SPD and instrument reprocessing and/or training and auditing SPD programs
- Knowledge of SPD environment, terminology and common procedures (cleaning, disinfection and sterilization) including an appreciation of best practices and the challenges of working in this environment
- Knowledge of healthcare Sterile Services industry and trends.
- A genuine interest and passion for training and educating groups of professionals.
- Ability to build relationships with key customers and contribute within a team environment.
- Clear and concise verbal and written presentation skills.
- Comfortable working with highly technical material, particularly a strong ability to present the complex in clear, simple terms.
- Ability to meet deadlines, work independently, and use MS Office application.
- Ability to travel up to 70% is required.
- Valid driver’s license is required.
- Must be able to be compliant with hospital/customer credentialing requirements.
- A genuine desire to well integrate the team and support other members to achieve team’s and business objectives.
Qualifications and Experience
- Ideally a degree (or long experience) in a relevant discipline: decontamination, reprocessing, medical devices with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Sterile Processing Department (SPD).
- Experience of training and auditing similar programs.
- Fluent in English (native speaker equivalent), additional languages would be advantageous.
- Experience in clinical practice, which may include perioperative practice, infection prevention, or nursing can be advantageous.
